I am a sociologist and professor in the department of Psychology and Public Health at UCA El Salvador. I am interested in agrarian worlds, human health, and human relationships with nonhuman agents. I am authored on 40 peer reviewed articles and/or book chapters concerning these topics. In my recent book, Parcels: Memories of Salvadoran Migration, I explore social remembering and forgetting in one rural diasporic community. That work has led me to my current project, where I explore human relationships with chemical actors in the fields of agriculture and psychiatry.
In my personal life I like to surf ocean waves, listen to stories, and hang out with dogs.
